My career started in Denver, CO when a friend of mine asked me if I knew anything about remodeling. He was unhappy with his current remodeling crew and wanted someone he could trust to remodel a rental property he had just purchased. Growing up, my father was very hands-on and could fix just about anything. I learned everything I could from my father and inherited his ability to look at something and know how to repair it, fix it, or replace it.
When I agreed to take on the floor-to-ceiling remodel of his four-plex, I have to be honest, it was a little overwhelming. In about three months, I demoed and reconstructed all four units, one-by-one. I removed walls, built new ones, replaced electrical and plumbing (including all the electrical and plumbing in the kitchens and bathrooms), installed cabinets, countertops, hardware, sinks, appliances, and backsplash in the kitchens, and installed all new flooring, baseboards, and trim throughout each of the units. In the bathrooms, I replaced the sinks, toilets, tubs, and flooring, and installed custom tile designs that rival significantly more expensive projects.
After that project, my passion for architecture, construction, and design detail naturally landed me smack dab in the middle of house flipping. Over the next couple years I purchased and renovated several properties in the Denver area and helped other investors with their own renovation projects. The knowledge I gained over these years has been invaluable to my career in home remodeling.
After flipping properties in Denver for several years, I moved to Dallas to start my window treatment company Shutter Shop LLC. Once Shutter Shop became well established, I was able to continue focus on renovating homes in the Dallas area and helping others with their remodeling projects. After completing several projects in the DFW area, I decided to branch out and officially establish a home renovation company. From there, Redoux was born.
Redoux is a small, family-owned and operated home renovation company in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Most of my business comes to me from word-of-mouth. If you have a project and wonder what it would take to make it happen, give me a call. I'll provide you with honest feedback, ideas (if you need them), and valuable solutions for all your home improvement and remodeling needs.
