Boring Bathroom

We see versions of this same bathroom almost every day. If you've got builder-grade finishes and you're ready for an update, consider taking your bathroom to the next level. Here's what this homeowner wanted to do before putting her house on the market. She recognized having an updated, fresh bathroom would help her house sell faster. We stayed on budget, finished in only a couple of days and we did the job correctly. The photos show before, during, and after.

To save money, we kept the existing tub. We removed all the old tiles surrounding it. Her shower had the old gold frame and she knew she had some loose grout and wanted to get to any water damage as soon as possible. Fortunately, no mold.  This was mostly a cosmetic update for a tired, dated bathroom.

The after pictures offer large format tiles in the shower to open up the space and make it feel larger than it actually is. We increased the size of the shower area as much as we could. Adding just a few inches here or there can make the space feel larger. We used a smaller tile surrounding the tub and wall area as well as a contrasting tile on the shower shelf as well as the window sill and the edge of the tub. The whole area feels light, bright and clean. The shower door is on order and will take a few days to arrive. Photos will be updated as soon as it arrives.
